The Department of 化学 and 物理 offers a curriculum leading to a bachelor of science or a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry. 化学 majors must complete the required chemistry, 数学, and physics courses of the core curriculum together with the courses required for one of the four degree options. By consulting your academic advisor, you can choose the degree option that best meets your needs and interests. The Department also offers a minor in chemistry and a minor in biochemistry.

化学 学位 Options

The link to each of the degree options below will provide you with a list of courses to be taken each semester in order to obtain the degree in four years.

• American Chemical Society-Certified Concentration, B.S. 学位

  (69 credit hours) This program is designed for the student who wishes to pursue an advanced degree or a career as a professional chemist.

• American Chemical Society-Certified Biochemistry Concentration, B.S. 学位

  (75 credit hours) This program is designed for the student who wishes to pursue an advanced degree or a career as a professional chemist in the area of biochemistry and the biological sciences.

• Pre-Professional Concentration, B.S. 学位

  (69 credit hours) This program is designed for the student who wishes to pursue a career in medicine, 牙科, veterinary science, or other related fields.

• Bachelor of Arts in 化学

  (52 credit hours) This program is designed for the student who wishes to attend professional school, pursue a career in chemistry education, or combine the study of chemistry with that of another discipline (e.g., biology, business, communication, criminology, etc.).
